Deep thought of the day:

There's always more than one reason.

I think sometimes life has to give you a taste of your past in order to bring you more fully into your present.

Yesterday I went back to my summer camp, and the universe treated me to a summer's worth of experience in an afternoon...it was nothing short of glorious. I went sailing (!!!), played in the water, talked to old friends (some of my former campers are now in charge!), caught up with John Farmer, met a cute boy, went parasailing, played in the rain, had to go to the infirmary, watched a regatta, taught my Mom how to sail, sang grace, made new friends, chowed down at a pig-pickin', went crabbing, saw porpoises in the Neuse, got a stunning bird's-eye view of the area for the first time, and to top it all off--a rainbow appeared that stretched across the river, ending at camp.

Today was exactly what I needed.

Is it just me, or is the quest for internet fame in New York starting to feel a lot like community theatre?

Tomorrow I'm going to NC, and am seriously considering going to the Festival of Friends on Wednesday at my old stomping grounds, Camp Don Lee.

Anyone else going/want to carpool?

So I bought this paparazzi play set after seeing it online (Noah's blog, I believe). The velvet rope is a little dinky, so I put the individual pieces in various places around my apartment. Get it?!? I'm super-clever! It's like the real thing! They are everywhere!

Anyway, it was fun until I started feeling paranoid...like I was being watched. After about 10 seconds, I decided it best to put them all in one place before I did something stupid---like shave my head, or get off the couch and flash someone, or play with my adopted babies, or anything else actual famous people do with the actual 'razzi stalking them...

When I am 77, I hope I am of sound mind enough to look back at this entry and remember the day when I was 27, and the G-8 pledged to cut emissions in half because it sounded adorable.

For seriouslyness, "50 by 2050" is fucking catchy isn't it? I wonder if they got the geniuses behind the Pizza Hut commercials of yesteryear: "Regular price, 5 bucks, 5 bucks..."

Oprah got me thinking today...

At one point does something switch from being about them, to being about you?

Spent the day with my original Kenyon redhead.

We caught the ball at a Staten Island Yankees game.
